About the Wushu Central Summer Camp Program

There's Something for Everyone

Wushu Central's Success Camp teaches facets of Wushu / Kung Fu Martial Arts that your children are sure to enjoy. Most of your child's day will be involved with physical activity, exploring forms and drills central to the martial arts, and through creative gaming where children are encouraged to use what they've learned to excel. Each child will learn a special performance routine which they will perform for their parents on the last day of the camp!

In addition to martial arts training and game playing, all Wushu Central camps also offer Life Skills curriculum (Bully Busters and Street Smart Safety lessons) along with daily activites.  Here are some of the exciting activities your child will be involved in:

Self Defense: Children will learn how to protect themselves verbally and physically.

Tumbling: Beginning with basic gymnastic postures and rolls, we'll progress toward cartwheels, handsprings, and flips.

Padded Weapons
: Children will learn the techniques of the sword by practicing drills and playing fun games.  This is a great team building experience too!

Life Lessons:  Our life lessons component is central to our philosophy and concentrates on building life skills including courage, perseverance, self esteem, self control, self discipline and other important characteristics. Many of our lessons use story telling to set the tone and generate discussion, and helps students further understand and embrace these attributes.  Coloring, word and other games are part of this experience.

Loads of Fun!  Obstacle courses, dodge ball, tag and man other fun games and drills will be a major part of every day at Wushu Central's Summer Camp. Wushu Central's focus on gaming is just one more way that we keep kids off the couch and as active as they can be. And, under the supervision of our staff, children get a better understanding of timing, sportsmanship, coordination, team building and the physical skills needed to excel in all aspects of life.

Wushu Adventures:  A Wushu Central Exclusive!

For children with an interest in fantasy and creativity, our summer camp features Wushu Adventures.
Wushu Adventures combines martial arts teachings with supervised play where children act out the
adventures of their favorite heroes and superheroes. Here are some of our Wushu Adventure games:

The Trojan War: Relive one of the most legendary battles from ancient history!  Become a mythic hero like Achilles or Ajax and storm the walls of Troy, using ancient Greek weapons like the shield and spear.  Or be a brave Trojan and defend your city from the invading Greek armies, using your swords, catapults and bows to keep them at bay.

Jedi Knight: Be a Jedi Knight like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Adi Gallia, Mace Windu or Luke Skywalker in all out Star Wars battles.  Fight the lords of the dark side and face off against Darth Maul, the evil Count Dooku, and dark lord puppets General Grievous, Boba Fett and the army of the clones.

Dragon’s Lair: Warriors travel from across the sea on a quest to snatch the king’s treasure. They will return to their kingdoms as heroes if they can get past the dragon (played by an instructor).  Student warriors wield nothing but a (padded) sword and a heart of courage, and must work as a team to be victorious.

Pirates of the Caribbean: You get to be Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann in an all out battle for supremacy of the high seas.  Kids will face buccaneers, bandits and a cannon!

Samurai vs. Ninja: Who will you be?  A powerful samurai, who has dedicated his life to mastering the sword and becoming a fearless warrior?  Or will you be a ninja, cunning and stealthy, who uses tricks, spells and exotic weapons to complete the mission.  You choose your destiny.

Superhero Battle Royale: What happens when Superman meets Wolverine? Or when Batman battles Lex Luther? Anything is possible in the ultimate superhero match-up, where kids get to dress up as their favorite hero or villain and do battle in the Labyrinth of Valor!

Hollywood Heroes: It’s the action hero world and two teams face off to determine which is the strongest and who will survive!  As soon as a player is tagged, they must fall to the ground and play dead.  However, if the player performs an all out textbook Hollywood death scene, that player may be brought back to life by the game master.
