"My students developed a better understanding of 'concentration', the steps to take when feeling distracted by external factors. ie. TV, friends, computer games. Students were mimicking the moves and lines after the instructors had left. Absolutely amazing presentation!...

I would definitely recommend this presentation to other teachers! It teaches kids to focus using specific strategies that aren't too complicated for kids."

"I want to thank you for putting on the self defense workshop for us on May 16. The people that attended were captivated by the presentation. I know some who missed other commitments so they could stay for your presentation.

The techniques you demonstrated were novel and new...and made the class fun for all of us."

Presentations

"Yes I Can" Presentation

Length: 20-30 minutes
Audience: 10+ students

In this action packed martial arts demonstration and motivational speech, national Chinese martial arts champion David Chang not only puts on a show that children will remember for years, but also teaches children about having a “Yes I Can” attitude which promotes positive thinking and goal achievement. Themes and lessons which arise in this presentation include:

  • Stinkin’ Thinkin’ and how to cure it
  • Perseverance – Try, try, and try again!
  • Say no to drugs, alcohol, and smoking

Concentration Course

Length: 10-15 minutes
Audience: 5-20 students

The Concentration Course serves as an excellent follow-up to the “Yes I Can” Presentation. David Chang works with a group of children on a more personal level and uses martial arts themes to teach better focus and concentration. Teachers will see an immediate improvement in class attention from students following the Concentration Course. Themes and lessons which arise in this interactive lesson include:

  • Respect – what it means and why it is important
  • Focus – using your eyes
  • The Black Belt attitude –
Courtesy, kindness, and striving for excellence

Self Defense Class

Length: 45-60+ minutes
Audience: 10+ students

Consider this: Current national statistics show that one out of every three people in this country will become the victim of violent crime. One out of every four women will be sexually assaulted by the age of eighteen, and one out of every three rape victims are under the age of 12.

Particularly popular amongst women and girls' groups such as the Girlscouts, our Self Defense class teaches the most essential techniques to use against the statistically most common attacks. No flashy moves or over-complicated combinations - your group will leave with techniques which truly work against an attacker of any size, and are easy to remember, even when panicky.
